Petaluma's one of a kind Rivertown Revival, The Greatest Slough on Earth event, is hosting another fanciful menagerie of al fresco festivity on Saturday, July 21st, 2012 from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm at the David Yearsley River Heritage Center at Copeland and East D Streets.
Now in its third year, a first time entry price of $5 covers three stages of live music, aerial acts, art boat races, tween and children areas, daredevil bike performances, wandering sideshows, and best of all, a chance to relax by the river under shade and watch the wonderful world of steampunk Victoriana walk by in the most fantastical of outfits.
"$5 is one of our themes this year. $5 buys you a beer, a wedding if you're so inclined, some food and several experiences," says Chris Aluia Event Designer for Rivertown Revival. "We want to keep our festival affordable, but can no longer afford to keep it free," continues Aluia.
"$1 of every $5 is a straight donation to The Friends of the Petaluma River to go directly into barn restoration of the over 100 year old barn that is now named The David Yearsley River Heritage Center," says Rivertown Revival's director and Friends of the Petaluma River board member, Kelin Backman.
Dunk a teacher in the festival's tween area, dance, shop, learn more about community resources, have fun with friends and family while supporting our river heritage .
