I recently decided to do a clean re-installation of the Lion operating system on my Power Mac and to be extra careful, I used SuperDuper to duplicate my current installation to another partition on another internal drive.
Following the reinstallation I went to re-install some of my Mac App Store purchases but it showed them as 'Installed' but they weren't installed.
I then used Disk Utility to 'unmount' the backup partition and relaunched the App Store and it worked just fine.
