Came across something interesting recently in my external monitoring systems....
Turns out that after a recent update and reboot, a couple of my Windows servers weren't responding to pings. No one changed anything but we did find that we needed to enable File & Print Server Echo requests on the Windows Advanced Firewall settings under Administrative Tools. Thanks to Patrick Wong's post for a quick fix!
